它的主要活性成分為熊去氧膽酸（Ursodeoxycholic Acid，簡稱 UDCA），能有效減少膽固醇分泌、促進膽汁流動並保護肝細胞。
溶解膽固醇性膽結石：適用於直徑小於 15 毫米、X 射線能穿透（非鈣化）且膽囊收縮功能正常的膽結石。
緩解因膽汁反流引致的胃部發炎及不適，通常每日 1 次，每次 1 粒（250mg），於晚間睡前服用。
最常見的副作用是稀便或腹瀉。
